With great sadness, we bid farewell to Ervin Breitkreutz at age 68 – beloved husband, son, brother and uncle. His wife Irma was privileged to care for and minister to his needs until he passed away at home on December 11, surrounded by love and in peace. They were together a total of 51 years through blessings and challenges and were married 37 years.
To mourn Erv’s passing and cherish his life are his wife Irma, mother-in-law Herta, brothers Rudy (Rose), Otto, Walter (Monica), Ruben (Lee-Ann), and sister Anita (Harald), sister-in-law Gudrun (Larry), nieces, nephews and many other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Ruth, brother Art, and father-in-law Adolf.
Erv was born in Edmonton in 1954 and moved with his family to Vernon in 1965. He was a gifted and skilled architectural designer, artist, craftsman, contractor, and alternative health therapist. His greatest fulfilment was as a therapist, trying to help people restore their health and enthusiasm for life. Erv was insightful, innovative and intuitive, who had a brilliant mind and continually searched for knowledge that he generously shared. In all his endeavours, he strove to offer his best to the benefit of others, and his passing leaves behind a huge void.
We extend deepest appreciation to Dr. Gilhooly, Dr. Roux and Dr. Yacyshyn for their attentive care over the years, and to Interior Health Authority’s team 3 who guided us over the last year and in Erv’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to may consider donating to the Vernon Christian School Annual Appeal, www.vcs.ca/donate or mail to 6890 Pleasant Valley Road, Vernon, BC V1B 3R5.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer.
