Guelda Maxine Rogers
In loving memory (May 8, 1952-Nov. 16, 2022).
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Guelda Rogers, at her home in Silver Creek, after a courageous battle with Cancer, with her four-legged friend Suka by her side. Guelda was predeceased by her Mother Doris Rogers and her brother Russell Rogers.
Born in Prince George B.C., Guelda spent her early years in Quesnel. In her teens she found work in an office, which proved to be her lifelong career. In her early 20s, she moved to Prince George, where she was to spend the majority of her life. She worked for C.C. Industries for 31 years, while doing books and taxes for private clients. In 2018, Guelda moved to Salmon Arm (Silver Creek), having fallen in love with this area while on vacation.
She leaves to mourn (or is survived by) cousins and her Goddaughter Andrea (Trevor). And of course her best bud, her four legged kid Suka, who was always by her side.
Throughout her life, Guelda made many friends, some dating back decades, even to childhood. Then upon moving to Silver Creek she made many new ones. In Guelda’s golden years she really enjoyed long walks with friends, exploring the area, road trips with cousins and friends, and social gatherings in Silver Creek.
Guelda had many interests, aside from her love of dogs. An avid reader and a big fan of Curling and Baseball (she was a true blue Toronto Blue Jays fan, no matter what)! Also, an avid shopper, especially of clothes and shoes. An amazing Kings Crib and Scrabble player as well as crossword solver and knitter.
Guelda touched the lives of anyone who met her. A truly generous, kindhearted soul, who will be truly missed. Guelda appreciated all the contact with friends and loved ones, especially in her past few years she really expressed her affection verbally and by giving big hugs. Guelda wanted loved ones to know she appreciated all the good times together, whether recent or many moons ago, we were all her kids. Guelda also wanted loved ones to know she understood not everyone could be present in her final months and so appreciated all of the helpful gestures, cards, phone calls, photos, and letters.
A special thanks goes out to all Interior Health staff who touched Guelda’s life through kindness and compassion.
