Hans Walter Willi Heinrich Niermann

Hans Walter Willi Heinrich Niermann, passed away at the age of 87 on October 7th 2022, after having his health slowly decline from CHF. His wife of 52 years, Carol was by his side. Family and loved ones were able to say goodbye during those last few days.
Hans was predeceased by his mother, Klara Niermann (nee Abendroth) of Bielefeld, Germany and his father Walter Niermann of Germany, and brother Klaus. He is survived by his wife Carol Niermann, sisters Helga and Renate, daughter Valerie Jones, son Rod Niermann (Amber Niermann) and grandchildren Jocelyn Jones, Sarah Jones, Shale Niermann, Jarret Niermann and Marissa and Bryce Gullickson. Hans immigrated to Canada in 1957 after the war. His intent was to be a beaver trapper. He opened up a cable shop in Merritt B.C., then worked as heavy duty mechanic at Craigmont Mine. There he met his future wife, Carol (chambermaid) at the Coldwater Hotel. In Merritt, they had wonderful lifelong friends Bill and Tina Mikita whom they would go fishing, hunting and camping with. This is where he and mom started their family and moved to Lower Nicola where he built “the big white house” that would outlast any earthquake. Hans was an avid outdoorsman who spent much of his time in nature. His favorite areas included Nicklen and Spec lake, Grizzly Swamp, Coquihalla and the Monashee Mountains. Hans joined the Coquihalla Caravan which instrumental in advocating for the highway to be built. Hans and Carol spent much of their time together at their favorite nature spots all over B.C.
Due to the recession in the 80’s, Dad relocated to Riverside Forest Products in Lumby B.C. as a heavy duty mechanic for 25 years. Hans and Carol attended Emmanuel Baptist Church, Lavington Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church. They made lifelong friends from church enjoying potlucks, camping, fishing and gatherings and playing games and cards. Throughout his entire, life he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
There will be no events planned, as he did not wish to have services. His ashes will be spread at Grizzly Swamp in the spring. Link: https://dignitymemorial.com
