Majority of respondents in favour of Behind the Mask mural project
Survey results show the majority of respondents are in favour of the proposed Behind the Mask mural project in Vernon, with the plan now being altered due to public feedback.
The proposed murals, featuring local artists wearing homemade masks to convey mental health messaging, were sent back to the Vernon Public Art Gallery (VPAG) to hold public consultations after preliminary approval from the City of Vernon was revoked after some public criticism.
VPAG held public viewings of the pieces to inform the public about the messaging behind the work and to gather feedback.
The gallery had 313 residents from Vernon attend and fill in the survey and another 40 from outside the city limits.
