Shuswap Lake nearing record level
The level of Shuswap Lake is just over a metre from being at an all-time high.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is monitoring the water levels of both the Shuswap River and Lake, and, as of 7 a.m. June 15, the lake level was reportedly 348.283 metres.
That is an increase of 0.078 m since the last update at 7 a.m. on June 14 when the level was 348.205 m.
Looking back on historic flood years, the CSRD noted that the highest peak lake level on record was 349.660 m during the 1972 flood year.
