It is with profound sadness & deep love that the family of Larry Marlatt announce his peaceful passing in the Vernon, BC Hospital, due to complications from Parkinson disease.
Larry believed that life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive & well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways in a body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, “WOO HOO what a ride!”
Larry was born in Toronto but spent much of his adult life in British Columbia. His career was mainly spent as a Cartographer with NAV Canada. Larry was also an Auxiliary member with the the Surrey RCMP as well as a scout leader. Aside from the numerous community events he volunteered for, he was an avid hiker & also a softball umpire & enjoyed crib & euchre.
Larry leaves behind his wife of 43 years Deborah (Vernon, BC), his two daughters in Ontario: Nicole (Marlatt) Coville (husband James) & Jacoba (Marlatt) Franks, his daughter Melissa (Marlatt) Nygaard (husband Wesley) of Kelowna, his son Ryan Marlatt (wife Tanya) of Kamloops, ten cherished grandchildren, three sisters LInda (Marlatt) Lemoine, Gail (Marlatt) Blackmoore, Betty (Marlatt) Blanks & friends across the country.
A celebration of Larry’s life will to be held 21 April 2022 at Elks Lodge, 3103 30th Street, Vernon BC.
