Marion Louise Henry passed away peacefully in Kamloops BC on January 17, 2022 at the age of 89. She was born in Bawlf, Alberta, and spent most of her childhood years in Camrose Alberta. Marion and her husband Roger moved to Vernon BC in the mid-50’s and resided on the east hill for many years.
Marion is survived by her loving family, sons Terry (Marcie) of Ladner BC, David (Julie) of Calgary BC, her daughter Diane Procter of Kamloops BC, and daughter-in-law Marilyn Henry of Vernon BC. Six grandchildren, Sandy, Joanna, Robert, Clayton, Laurin, and Thressa.
Marion was predeceased by her husband Roger in 1990, who spent many years living with and battling Multiple Sclerosis. In June 2021, she was overwhelmed with grief when her youngest son Dr. Dale Henry died suddenly in a tragic outdoor accident. It is comforting to know they are together once again.
Marion was extremely proud of her Norwegian heritage. She was a catalyst for family reunions and could tell endless stories about family history. The facts and information she had of her Norwegian roots dating back hundreds of years was incredible and will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Kamloops Royal Inland Hospital for the generous care she received during her last few days. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of your choice.
Funeral service will be held on January 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Attendance is by invitation only by the family, and all guests must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
