Peacefully, with his family by his side Donald Albert Zantingh fell asleep in Christ January 17th 2022, at Hospice House, at the age of 70 years.
He was predeceased by his mother Edith (nee Green) and father John Zantingh. He is survived by his wife Janice “Jan” (nee Riel); his children Charlene (David), Ryan (Shannon) and Angie (Derek); along with grandchildren Emma, Landon, Lexie, Kylie and Zachary; his siblings Carol (Skip), twin David (Stacey), Colleen (Bill), Linda (Dale) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was born at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg MB March 27th 1951, three minutes after twin David. Don and Jan married September 15th 1973 in Winnipeg. They moved to Vernon BC in 1974 where Don worked at Wayside Press until his retirement in 2014.
Don was a devout and faithful Christadelphian. He had a strong belief in God and now awaits the return of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the dead.
A lover of nature, Don hiked frequently in Kalamalka Lake Park with his dog Tucker. Don enjoyed camping trips, boating, biking and time with his family at Bible Schools. He never turned down a trip to the park with his grandchildren. He had a passion for flowers and spent each spring planning his beautiful hanging baskets to enjoy on his deck.
He was a beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Papa and Brother in Christ. He is deeply loved and will be in our hearts forever.
The family would like to thank all the medical staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital, the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Vernon Hospice House for the wonderful care they provided Don.
