MacDonald’s two goals powers Vipers over Smokies

The Vernon Vipers rallied to defeat the Trail Smoke Eaters 5-3 Friday night at Kal Tire Place.

Cam MacDonald scored two goals for the Vipers who won their second straight game before 1,314 fans.

Nick Kent and Luke Pakulak also scored third period goals for the home side as Vernon came back from a 3-2 deficit.

Ethan David made 28 saves in the Vipers net for the win, with Brady Hunter leading the Smokies with two goals.

Vipers coach and GM Jason McKee was struck by an errant puck in the third period and had to leave the game for a few minutes.

The Cranbrook Bucks make their first visit to Kal Tire Place tonight for the Vipers and Beach Radio’s Teddy Bear Toss game at 6:00 p.m.
