Interior Health adds 266 new COVID-19 cases

Interior Health confirmed 266 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the region’s active case count to 2,299.

The new cases were part of 785 confirmed across the province, and there are now 5,873 active COVID-19 cases in British Columbia.

There were also two deaths linked to COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the provincial death toll up to 1,818. The deaths were in the Vancouver and the Island Health regions.

The province reported there are now 199 British Columbians in hospital due to complications from COVID-19, 112 of whom are in intensive care.

There was one new outbreak site confirmed in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, while the Kootenay Street Village outbreak has been declared over.

There are 19 active outbreak sites in the province, 12 of which are located in the interior.

  • Cottonwoods Care Centre (Kelowna): 19 residents, 10 staff, four deaths
  • David Lloyd Jones (Kelowna): 40 residents, 14 staff, seven deaths
  • Hawthorn Park (Kelowna): one resident, four staff
  • Spring Valley Care Centre (Kelowna): seven residents, two staff, one death
  • Sun Pointe Village (Kelowna): five residents, one death
  • Village at Mill Creek – second floor (Kelowna): two residents, three staff
  • Brookhaven Care Centre (West Kelowna): 10 residents, eight staff, two deaths
  • Kamloops Seniors Village (Kamloops): three residents, two staff, one death
  • Nelson Jubilee Centre (Nelson): two residents, three staff, two deaths
  • Nicola Meadows (Merrit): four residents, three staff, one death
  • Hardy View Lodge (Grand Forks): one resident, one staff
  • Rose Woods Village (Trail): two residents
