OKIB fire evacuees offered phone and laundry assistance

Evacuees from the Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) reserve are getting some relief on certain services as they wait to go home.

Telus has suspended billing for its wireline home services for evacuees and waived overages on data, texting, and voice beyond regular plans.

The North Okanagan Friendship Centre Society and the United Way are offering the evacuees free laundry services at Aloha Laundry Services on 34th Street in Vernon.
