Caetani Centre hosts one-day outdoor music festival

Vernon’s historic Caetani Centre opens its grounds for a one-day music festival this Saturday, Aug. 7.

Organizers say ticket holders can expect a day of music, laughter, and great food.

“After this past year, I think we all need to celebrate,” Andrew Mercer, Caetani Music Festival music director, said. “Whether you just want to come for the afternoon or evening concerts or if you want to spend the whole day with us, we’ll have you covered with food trucks. Plus, we will have a cash bar, and of course, an unbelievable lineup of talent and fun for the whole family.”

Headlining the festival this year will be The Hip Replacements, a Tragically Hip tribute band that has been performing The Hip’s music for 16 years at clubs, festivals, concerts and private events.

Also on the lineup is popular Celtic-Maritime act Cod Gone Wild, Kelowna dream-folk duo Josh + Bex, acoustic folk act Parks & Hustler, singer-producer wunderkind Justin Moore, singer-soulstress Shaughnessy Rose, and from the Okanagan Symphony the Kitchen Sink Pocket Orchestra.

Food by Gord Oh’s and Rumaican Foods and Goods will be available for purchase, while the cash bar will open to those 19-plus from noon to 10 p.m.

COVID-19 guidelines are still being followed. Although this is an outdoor event, organizers recommend that patrons continue to wear masks, maintain social distancing, and there will be sanitizing stations available on site. Patrons will be asked to sign in for COVID-19 tracing. Anyone exhibiting symptoms is asked to stay home.

Tickets are available in advance at the Ticket Seller, 250-549-7469 or www.ticketseller.ca. The event will be held rain or shine or smoke. Tickets are non-refundable.

An all-day pass is $60 in advance, $70 at the gate; evening pass only (must be 19+), $35 advanced, $40 at the gate; afternoon pass only, $25 advanced, $30 door; afternoon child/student (16 and under) is $10.

Parking is not available at the Caetani Centre during the events and patrons are asked to park off site in approved parking zones, and to please respect our neighbours by not blocking driveways.

Patrons are also reminded to bring their own portable lawn chairs or blankets.

12:00 p.m. – Doors Open for Festival
1:00 p.m. – Shaughnessy Rose
2:00 p.m. – Justin Moore
3:00 p.m. – Parks & Hustler
4:00 p.m. – Kitchen Sink Pocket Orchestra

5:00 p.m. – 6:30 pm – Break – Food and Cash Bar Available

5:30 p.m. – Doors open for Evening Ticket Holders

6:30 p.m. – Josh + Bex
7:30 p.m. – Cod Gone Wild
8:30 p.m. – The Hip Replacements
