Kalamalka Lake Road Construction Update Meeting

The City of Vernon is holding a meeting this evening on the Kalamalka Lake Road construction.

Transportation Manager Amanda Watson says anyone who is interested is welcome to see the final designs.

” We have shown them previously when we were part way through the process but now these are the final drawings so it’s a chance for them to meet us, see the drawings and have any questions answered.”

Amanda Watson says the designers listened to people the last time they met and made some alterations.

‘ It was the detailed design. We took comments if they had any, particular concerns about their accesses or driveways. Now, we’ve got the final design to show them.”

She says anyone coming tonight is free to offer up further suggestions.

“We are always open to ideas, comments and suggestions. If there’s information that people haven’t given us up until now then obviously we’ll take that on. Then we’d have to go away and look at it to see whether those changes can be made or can’t be made.”

The meeting is from 5 to 7 pm this evening in council chambers.

The tendering process is still underway and will be discussed at the next council meeting.

No date has been set yet to begin the work.
