Vernon Farmers Market Set For Opening

The Vernon Farmers Market is gearing up for another season

It opens this Thursday 8 am to 1 pm behind Kal Tire Place.

Market Manager Ingrid Baron says the market will be a little smaller

” Sort of a little cozier in one corner but we’re still going to make it work. We’re quite confident it is going to work.”

Baron says the actual set up is a little further back than shoppers are used to.

” Rather than the way that we started sort of at the first set of gates we’ll start half way down and then we will go all the way over to the Kin Race Track fence.”

It’s actually better than what was first anticipated when planning was underway this year due to the arena expansion.

” At first it was going to be squeezed a lot more and then the city has come up with a little bit better sort of layout for the construction people.”

Construction traffic will be kept to the west side of the building.
