Donation helps team members get to nationals

Four members of the Vernon Ski Club will be off to the Under 16 Canadian Alpine Ski Championships next week, thanks to a $2,000 donation from Silver Star Mountain Resort.

Ella Mills, Jamie Robinson, Lauren Clancy and Oliver Young will be part of Team BC at the event at Sun Peaks Resort Mar. 9-14.

“Silver Star Mountain is proud to support these young athletes and encourage youth to enjoy the Mountain and pursue their athletic goals”, said Ian Jenkins, Director of Sales, Marketing and Accommodation at Silver Star Mountain Resort. “We wish them the best of luck in the competition.”

“We are extremely grateful and appreciative for the $2,000 donation from Silver Star Mountain”, said Anne Marie Clancy U16 parent rep. “Over the years Silver Star has supported ski racing and our ski club, helping us produce many amazing ski racers.”

Aaron Robinson, VSC president added: “I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Silver Star Mountain for helping to make it possible for these athletes to attend this event. I also want to thank all of our other local sponsors.”
