Man dies in makeshift structure fire
RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating the death of a man found inside a makeshift structure after an early morning fire in Salmon Arm.
“Emergency crews responded to reports of a structure on fire in the 1700-block of 10th Avenue Southwest in Salmon Arm around 5:15 a.m Thursday (March 5). First responders arrived on scene to find the makeshift structure fully engulfed in flames,” said RCMP Staff Sgt. Scott West.
Witnesses say there were explosions during the blaze, likely due to propane and fuel containers at the site.
The body of a dead male was found by fire crews inside the structure.
