UPDATE: Police tight-lipped about suspicious death

Mar 2, 2020 | 11:15 AM

UPDATE March 2

An RCMP probe continues into a suspicious death at a Vernon hotel.

But police have told Vernon Matters they have nothing further to say at this time.

Officers were called to the Canada’s Best Value Inn and Suites on 32nd Street Friday night for a report of a sudden death.

No other details have been released but investigators were at the scene again Monday gathering evidence.

Police in Vernon are investigating what they call a suspicious death.

Officers were called to a local hotel Friday before 8 p.m. for a report of a sudden death.

“The Vernon RCMP General Investigative Section has now taken conduct of the investigation, with support from the Forensic Identification Section and are treating the incident as suspicious in nature,” said Const. Kelly Brett, media relations officer.

Brett said RCMP remain on scene as the investigation is ongoing.

“To protect the integrity of the investigation, no further information will be released at this time,” Brett added.
