Councillor not sure why she got death threat

A Vernon city councillor says she slept with an axe in her bedroom for a few months after getting a death threat.

Dalvir Nahal says she was scared after getting an anonymous letter a few months ago that included a threat for her to die, which she reported to police.

Nahal isn’t sure if it was for something she did on council, or the fact she has cancer and someone was being mean about that.

“We do get a lot of abuse over the phone and by email based on decisions we make on council, so it could be anything,” Nahal told Global News.
