UPDATE: Crash slows traffic at busy intersection

UPDATE 4 p.m.

It caused a lot of traffic problems, but fortunately no injuries.

Two pickup trucks, one with a camper on the back, collided at Highway 97 and 25th Avenue by the Fruit Union Plaza around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, one of the city’s busiest intersections.

Vernon Fire Rescue responded to the scene, and the City of Vernon provided an update.

“Everyone was out of the vehicles when they arrived. No injuries were reported and no one was transported to hospital,” said Christy Poirier, manager of communications and grants for the city.

Traffic has been backed up at one of Vernon’s busiest intersections this afternoon.

Two vehicles collided at Highway 97 and 25th Avenue by the Fruit Union Plaza around 2:30 p.m.

Emergency vehicles have been on the scene with eastbound traffic on 25th Avenue most affected.
