UPDATE: Traffic moving again through rollover site on Coquihalla Highway

UPDATE

Traffic is once again moving in the southbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway after an earlier closure between Merritt and Hope.

A semi rolled over this morning near Hope, blocking the southbound lanes, but Drive BC says single lane traffic is now getting through.

The Coquihalla Highway is closed for southbound traffic between Merritt and Hope after a semi overturned east of Hope.

An assessment is in progress with no estimated opening time at this point.

Drive BC said motorists should expect “heavy delays and congestion.”

Detour available via Highway 8 to Highway 1 from Merritt and Highway 5A to Highway 3 from Merritt.
