Jan 13, 2020 | 10:29 AM

A Vernon restaurant was the target of an armed robbery over the weekend, which so far has not led to any arrests.

Police were called to an unnamed restaurant in the 3100 block of 29th Avenue, believed to be Top Choice Pizza, Saturday around 9:30 p.m. after a man entered the store, threatened staff with a knife, demanded money and fled with some cash.

Numerous officers flooded the area in search of the suspect, but were unable to locate him.

“This investigation is still ongoing,” said Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy, media relations officer for Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. “There were no customers in the restaurant at the time, and we are glad to report that no one was injured as a result of this incident.”

Police are looking for a Caucasian male in his early 20’s who wore a dark jacket with a hoody.

Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leave a tip online at www.nokscrimestoppers.com.
