Arnold to push for ‘fair funding’ to prevent mussel invasion

More federal funding is needed for B.C.’s fight to prevent a quagga and zebra mussel invasion in the province according to local MP Mel Arnold.
In his new role as the Tories’ shadow minister for Fisheries and Oceans, Arnold says he’ll press the Liberal government for what-he-calls a “fair” portion of federal funds.
Meantime, the federal government is being called on to take immediate action this winter to save the Fraser River salmon runs that were devastated by a landslide earlier this year.
Arnold is urging the feds to tackle the landslide this winter while the river level is at its lowest.
