Thieves target vehicles and bikes

Lock it — or lose it.

Thats the advice from RCMP to Coldstream residents when it comes to preventing vehicle break-ins and other property crimes.

Superintendent Shawna Baher told council there were 61 property offences in the District in the third quarter of this year, some involving valuables taken from unlocked cars and unsecured bicycles being stolen.

“People feel it’s safe to leave valuables in their car and they’re broken into,” said Baher. “Those things need to be taken into the residence.”
