Dates have been set for a murder trial in Vernon.

Richard Wiliam Fairgrieve, born in 1973 and Jacqueline Nicole Leavins, born in 1978 are both facing a single charge of second-degree murder.

The charges are connected to the death of William Bartz, whose body was found in a Vernon apartment on 43rd Avenue in July 2017.

Police have not released the cause of death.

The suspects were arrested in October 2018 after a 15-month investigation by the North Okanagan RCMP’s General Investigative Section.

Their trial has been scheduled for six weeks, from July 6 to August 17, 2020 in B.C. Supreme Court.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
