Oct 18, 2019 | 5:25 AM

There is a new person in charge of media relations with the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy started her new role as Media Relations Officer and Volunteer Liason this week.

She takes over from Const. Kelly Brett who has transferred to the detachment’s Special Victims Unit as a domestic violence investigator.

Noseworthy has experience in dealing with media, as she held the position prior to Brett.

She has been in Vernon for over five years, part of 14 years in a variety of police postings in B.C., Newfoundland, and Labrador.

Aside from media relations, she will also be responsible for working alongside volunteer programs including CrimeStoppers, the auxiliary constable program, Community Safety Office, and the City of Vernon RCMP Volunteers.
