A Vernon physiotherapist facing a number of sexual assault charges is expected to enter guilty pleas in court later this month.

Stephen Witvoet was in Vernon provincial court Wednesday, and indicated an intention to enter a guilty plea at his next court appearance Oct. 28.

The 47-year-old Witvoet is facing 12 charges of sexual assault involving different individuals between 2009 and 2016.

Dan McLaughlin from the B.C. Prosecution Service says they anticipate Witvoet will plead guilty to “some of the charges” on Oct. 28.

“We will proceed to sentencing the same day,” McLaughlin told Vernon Matters.

The College of Physical Therapists of B.C. placed several conditions on Witvoet back in July including banning him from treating female patients of any age, and ordering him to keep a door or curtain open at all times when treating male patients.
