Voter cards arriving this week

Canadians should get their voter information card in the mail by this Friday, Oct. 4, which confirms they are a registered elector for the upcoming federal election.

The card tells people when and where they can vote, including advance polls, and has information about the accessibility of their polling station.

“Electors who do not receive a card by Friday, October 4, or whose card shows the wrong information, can register or update their address online or by contacting their Elections Canada office. Electors should contact the Elections Canada office in their electoral district if: the name on their card contains an error they receive a voter information card for a deceased person or someone who does not live at their address,” said the Elections Canada website.

General voting day is just under three weeks on Oct. 21.

Advance polls will be open from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (local time) on Friday, October 11; Saturday, October 12; Sunday, October 13; or Monday, October 14.

People can also vote throughout the election period at one of over 500 Elections Canada offices. To vote at an Elections Canada office, electors must apply before Tuesday, October 15, 6 p.m.
