Fire ban lifted

Sep 17, 2019 | 4:35 PM

The cooler wet weather has allowed the province to lift a ban on category two and three open fires in the Kamloops ire Centre as of noon Wednesday, Sept. 18.

The action applies to all public and private land unless specified otherwise such as in a local government bylaw.

The ban has been in effect since the spring due to the wildfire danger.

The lifting will also allow the following equipment and activities: fireworks, including firecrackers; sky lanterns; burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description; binary exploding targets; and tiki and similar kind of torches.
