Traffic delays and detours back on 27th Street

Work crews are back at the south end of 27th Street in Vernon and that will mean delays and detours for motorists.

Paving is taking place from 32nd Avenue to Highway 6 for the next month, with the work running from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

The closures for the City of Vernon project will include the northbound exit off Highway 6.

“We took away the Highway 6 turn off because the volume by the church and the school is only two lanes and we need to take one away when we do that portion. We want to train the traffic to find an alternate route,” Traci Jeeves from Okanagan Trafffic Control said.
