Winner of free groceries announced!

Aug 30, 2019 | 10:10 AM

It is a prize that everyone can use: Free groceries for a year.

Because of that, thousands of people entered the contest to mark the launch of Vernon’s exciting new website VernonMatters.ca, powered by Beach Radio 107.5.

Only one person could win, and that person was announced on Beach Radio this morning, with Brian and Rebecca.

Aynsley Stuart’s name was randomly selected by using an online number randomizer.

“I entered like a hundred times. That’s fantastic. Thank you so much,” Stuart told the morning team who were joined by Robert Cashato from Save-On-Foods for the big announcement.

Cashato explained how the prize will work.

“Every week for the next 52 weeks we’re going to have a $100 gift card for you to put toward some groceries. I’m not sure if you’ve been a Save On Foods shopper or not, but I’m sure you’re going to be now, and we’re happy to have you come on board,” Cashato, the manager of the store in the Village Green Centre, said.

Stuart, who lives in Armstrong and works in Vernon at the courthouse, said the prize will come in handy.

“I have two kids, so it’s going to be extremely handy for me and the kids. It’s going to be so helpful for my family. It will help out a ton,” she told Vernon Matters.

Stuart says she enjoys the new website, and listens to Beach Radio every day.
