Fireworks spark concerns in Coldstream
The Coldstream Fire Department didn’t get any calls about what sounded like fireworks being set off in the community late Wednesday night, but a number of residents heard them.
The explosives could be heard going off for several minutes around 11:30 p.m, which given the rising fire danger, would be a concern to residents and fire officials.
Fire chief Dave Sturgeon says other than a couple of media inquiries, they didn’t get any complaints about it and no fires were started.
“I would remind people if they do hear or see anything, to give us a shout because there is nothing we can do after the fact,” Sturgeon told Vernon Matters.
