Pedestrian struck by vehicle

A woman has been transported to hospital after being struck by a vehicle just after 5 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Vernon Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Dwight Seymour confirmed the incident which occurred along Highway 97 and 21 Avenue near Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

” When our crews got on scene both ambulance and RCMP were already on scene so our services were canceled,” he said.

Traffic was briefly stalled heading northbound into the city as ambulance worked to transport the female patient.
