Overflow crowd for adventure park meeting forces rescheduling
A public hearing on a proposed mountain adventure park in Spallumcheen was so packed, it had to be rescheduled to a larger venue.
Local residents Jack and Patti Wood are seeking a zoning text change from the township to allow the facility on five properties at 1995 Powerhouse Road.
The park would be built in phases, starting with an alpine coaster ride and adding other activities like zip lines later.
Spallumcheen Mayor Christine Fraser estimates 70 to 80 people packed Tuesday’s meeting at the municipal office, and for several reasons, they decided to reschedule it to the Centennial Hall in Armstrong for Thursday night at 6 p.m.
