There is a new fire in the North Okanagan — but there is no cause for alarm.
The Salmon River fire, south of Westwold (northwest of Vernon), is listed as under control, and spot-sized.
“We have three BCWS personnel responding today, and it is suspected lightning-caused,” Taylor MacDonald, information officer with the B.C. Wildfire Service, told Vernon Matters.
At last report, there were five active fires in the Kamloops Fire Centre, and 30 active fires in B.C.
