Another legal pot shop coming to Vernon

Jul 23, 2019 | 1:45 PM

Another pot shop was given the green light by the province to operate in the city of Vernon.

According to the B.C Liquor and Cannabis Regulation branch’s website, The Greenhorn was given provincial approval to operate as a non-medical retail cannabis store.

The new shop will be situated at Unit 2 4513 25th Avenue Vernon, near the Longhorn Pub and Liquor Store.

“We will have CBD dominant products. We will have pre-rolls. We will have dried flower and one gram and three-and-a-half gram packaging,” Owner Aftaab Dhillon said.

No specific opening date was set because it is contingent on provincial inspections but Dhillon said he anticipates that he will be ready to open next week.

Sixteen people were hired to work at the store so far.

“We are just excited that we are going to be creating around 10 to 15 more jobs in the Vernon area and that just helps the community grow and it gets people working. More jobs mean less unemployment, less homeless people,” Dhillon said.

Customers can expect an earthy minimalist atmosphere when they enter the store.

Dhillon will also be opening two more pot shops in the Kamloops area sometime soon.
