Workshop on navigating the healthcare system coming to the area
The Alzheimer’s Society of B.C. puts on a workshop this week in Vernon.
It’s to help caregivers supporting people living at home with dementia in the Vernon area on how to navigate the healthcare system.
“The session reviews strategies for accessing support through a variety of sources in the community, from family and friends to the healthcare system. It also explores challenges that can arise when accessing services and support. Participants will learn strategies for working with service providers and acting as an advocate,” a news release from the agency said.
The event is from 1 to 3 p.m. this Thursday at the People Place at 3402 27th Avenue.
