Alleged knife threats prompt police presence near bank
Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say yesterday’s large police presence near a local bank on 32nd Street was due to a confrontation over personal property.
Witnesses at the scene allegedly saw a man threatening someone with a knife, who was suspected of going through someone’s personal belongings, police say.
“Police learned that the individuals entered into an altercation after a female was accused of going through property that was being stored behind a garbage bin,” RCMP Media Relations Officer Const. Kelly Brett said. “Through further investigation and a search of the immediate area, officers located a small BB gun and two knives, allegedly belonging to a man involved in the disturbance.”
No one was hurt in the incident.
