Update: Police identify fraud suspect

It didn’t take long for tips to start coming into police on an alleged fraudster in Armstrong.

Just a few hours after issuing photos of the suspect, Mounties now say they have identified the man seen in the surveillance photos.

The suspect was wanted in connection with allegedly using a stolen bank card at an Armstrong gas station.

The card was stolen from a vehicle on June 12, 2019.

“This suspect has since been identified and no further information is needed. Vernon RCMP would like to thank the citizens of Vernon who provided information on this suspect,” said RCMP Const. Kelly Brett.

RCMP have released photos to the media of a man who allegedly used a stolen bank card at an Armstrong gas station.

The card used was stolen from a vehicle on June 12, 2019.

The video surveillance photos show a man making purchases using the alleged stolen bank card.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 45 to 50 years old, 5-10 tall, with long, blonde hair tied back into a ponytail.

“In an effort to further our ongoing investigation, police are releasing an image taken by the business of the fraud suspect,” RCMP Const. Kelly Brett said.
