Jun 17, 2019 | 10:31 AM

A fire in a mobile home in Okanagan Landing Sunday was probably electrical although fire investigators continue to review the scene, according to Vernon Fire Rescue deputy chief Dwight Seymour.

“It was not suspicious in nature,” Seymour said.

The fire in a unit at 6902 Okanagan Landing Road caused heavy smoke damage.

Seymour said the two occupants are now staying with relatives.

Fire investigators have arrived at the scene of Sunday’s fire that damaged a mobile home in Okanagan Landing.

Passers by spotted smoke coming from underneath the unit around 1:30 p.m. Sunday and called 911.

Vernon Fire Chief David Lind said firefighters from the Okanagan Landing fire hall were on scene within two minutes, with another engine from the main station arriving shortly after that.

“There was heavy smoke damage inside but no one was home, no one was hurt,” said Lind.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
