City taking action on climate change

People can find out more about the City of Vernon’s climate action plan at this weekend at the Sunshine Festival.

The city has formed a Climate Action Advisory Committee which will have a booth at the event in the downtown on Saturday.

People can share their thoughts on climate change and find out more about what preventative measures are being taken to minimize the impact.

“The City of Vernon is committed to taking action on climate change,” a city news release said. “To this end the city has created a Climate Action Advisory Committee and is preparing a climate action plan. This plan will propose a vision for a climate resilient Vernon and address both mitigation of greenhouse gases and preparation for the impacts of climate change.”
