RCMP investigating suspicious vehicle fire

A small Ford Ranger pickup truck was engulfed in flames early Thursday morning, prompting an investigation by the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

The fire occurred along 20th Street and 42nd Avenue.

Police said they were called out to assist the fire department at approximately midnight, Thursday, June 13.

“Through further investigation, front line officers determined the truck was reported stolen out of West Kelowna BC, on May 24, 2019,” RCMP Const. Kelly Brett said. “The circumstances into the stolen vehicle and arson remains under investigation at this time. No one was injured as a result of the fire.”
