A man who escaped from a provincial prison in 2016 has been arrested in Salmon Arm.
Police say the man was questioned in a shopping centre parking lot last week and provided an incorrect name and no ID.
“Officers continued to investigate the man’s identity because he did not produce identification,” says Staff Sgt. Scott West.
West says officers were able to quickly identify the man from his distinctive tattoos, and arrested him for being wanted on 40 outstanding charges in Ontario, Alberta and other western provinces.
