Greyhound Station Sold

Vernon’s former Greyhound bus station has been sold.

The building and site on 30th Street downtown has been purchased by the owner of Eatology — Kristina Klein — who will start renovations later this month to expand her popular restaurant that opened almost four years ago.

She says they will add up to six more booths, several more tables, and open an events room.

“So we can have Christmas parties, small weddings and small events. But we will renovate it all and eventually renovate the outside as well,” Klein tells Beach Radio News.

A portion of the building will be leased out.

“We’re super excited, and can’t wait to start. We’re getting a bigger space so then we can actually have more people come. A lot of people say they love it, but don’t come very often because they can never get a seat, so we will have more space, and will redo the washrooms. It’s just nice that we actually own it,” says Klein, formerly Kristina Sidorczuk before recently getting married.

Klein says the deal officially closes Jan. 12, and she is not disclosing the purchase price.

Greyhound closed down the Vernon station and its other bus operations in Western Canada on October 31.
