No Shopping Carts At Shelter

Those overflowing shopping carts used by the homeless are not permitted at a temporary shelter that recently opened on 33rd Street, next to Gateway Shelter.

“Residents who reside there won’t be bringing shopping carts and storing them on the property,” says Kelly Fehr, of Turning Points Collaborative which runs the project.

He says someone moving into the shelter may move their belongings by shopping cart, but they cannot keep them on site as there is no place to put them.

Instead, there are lockers inside the building for everyone staying there, Fehr says.
