Man Dies In Snowmobile Incident
RCMP and the BC Coroner’s Service are investigating a fatal snowmobiling incident near Sicamous.
A man from Sicamous had been guiding a group of five other snowmobilers Sunday afternoon in the Queest Mt. Forest Service Road area north of Sicmous, when his machine accidentally rolled into a creek bed and pinned him underneath.
CPR was administered by the group, but they were unable to revive the 51 year old man.
“The Shuswap Search and Rescue Team was activated by the Sicamous RCMP and were able to get to locate the group and confirmed the fatality. The SSAR technicians were able to get the other snowmobilers out of the area, however, the removal of the deceased was not possible at that time due to the terrain, darkness and weather conditions,” says RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.
