Park Access An Issue

A Vernon councillor says she will push to make city parks more accessibile for everyone.

Dalvir Nahal has heard from a wheelchair user who says it can be hard to get around some parks like Lakeview Park.

“I got a phone call from Dr. Rex Hawthorne, who is in a wheelchair, and he found some of the local parks are not easy to navigate,” Nahal told Beach Radio News.

Nahal would like the City to use more ideas from Independent Living, which advocates for people with mobility challenges.
