$7.8 Million To Vernon For Affordable Housing
Vernon is among 42 cities getting provincial funding to build affordable mixed income rental homes.
Premier John Horgan says the new homes will be for a range of income levels, and will held address the crisis that has made housing unaffordable for even middle-class families.
“Years of inaction on the B.C. housing crisis left families struggling to get by and unable to get ahead,” said Horgan. “These new, affordable rental homes are an important step toward addressing the housing crisis and giving families in every part of the province a break from skyrocketing housing costs.”
Vernon is getting a total of 7.8 million dollars for three projects totalling 78 homes under the Community Housing Fund.
