Bail Decision for Sagmoen Moved to Today

Bail Decision for Sagmoen Moved to Today

Nov 1, 2018 | 6:40 AM

Curtis Wayne Sagmoen appeared by video in a Vernon courtroom yesterday for a bail application, but Crown Counsel Juan O’Quinn asked the matter to be moved to today.

A protest group gathered outside the Vernon courthouse yesterday, as they have in the past to protest violence against women. The group will be back on the courthouse steps today.

Sagmoen allegedly threatened a sex trade worker with a firearm near Falkland last year which resulted in facing numerous charges.

Court records state that Sagmoen is also being held on charges stemming from a violent assault on a female in Maple Ridge. What that means is even if he is granted bail today on the local charges, he will remain in custody on the Maple Ridge alleged assault,
