Resort Supports Animal Shelters

A fundraiser for local SPCA branches at SilverStar Mountain Resort was something to bark about.

One of the resort’s former Summit Lift chairs, along with Halloween pumpkins, and a custom-made dog house from Bannister GM Vernon, generated over five-thousand dollars in donations.

The resort chipped in funds as well for a total of $6,300

The money will be divided between the Vernon and Kelowna SPCA branches to help pay for animal necessities.

“The proceeds and donations received by the BC SPCA from SilverStar Mountain Resort is absolutely amazing,” said Chelsea Taylor, Vernon Branch Manager. “We are so pleased, and so very grateful to be receiving these much-needed funds that will go towards medical costs, spaying/neutering, and sheltering costs.”

SilverStar Mountain Resort is a proud supporter of the BC SPCA, and notes on-leashed dogs are welcome on all of the snowshoe trails on the mountain.

The resort expects to open for Nordic skiing Friday November 16,and  for Alpine on Thursday November 22, 2018.
