Mayor’s Race Decided By Draw

The mayor’s race in Peachland has been decided by drawing a name out of a box.

That’s what happened after a judicial recount produced another tie between incumbent Cindy Fortin and Harry Gough, each with 804 votes.

That led to Justice Ellen Burdett putting the two names in a box, and selecting Fortin.

Gough then shook Fortin’s hand congratulating her, and said he accepts the decision.
